sweet anniston

i am posting a quick one-photo peek, well, just because i want to. and because it is all i can do for now.

this sweet girl was tiny. she was 5lbs 15oz. when she was born and she was just over two weeks when she came to my house. i really miss that stage. tonight i tried to hold my 4-year-old in a position that is really easy with newborns. it was awkward and i almost dropped her while she slept. i miss the tiny stage. they grow out of it so quickly. and it is so fun capturing newborns because of that. capturing their tiny phase. the fresh and new phase. before it's gone.

She's two!

Remember THIS sweety? Well, Miss Mariah turned 2 recently and she is still as cute as she was a year and a half ago. I just LOVE all of the photos we got of her. Really. I couldn't narrow it down. I really wish I could show you all of them. So I used the "eeny-meeny-miney" device to choose a few photos to put up here. And really, this is just a small sampling of the cute photos Mariah made.
Enjoy.

and just because i can't help smiling, and giggling a little when i see this photo, i'll end with this super large and fun "cheese" photo of mariah.

Aren't you smiling now, too?

Behind

i am so. far. behind. that i can't catch up. and i apologize. I have so many wonderful families that haven't yet made it up here. i am a terrible decision maker when it comes to putting pictures up here. i love so many and can't decide which to use. so i put it off. and then i put off another. and then it becomes so overwhelming that i don't know where to start.

but i will start. soon. from the beginning.

LOVE

i know i said i'd be back next year, but i couldn't resist. i just LOVE this photo. these kids are a bunch of fun! i am so grateful i was able to see them again, even though they live far to the north.

see you next year!

well, since i am leaving town on wednesday and won't return until december, i thought i would post my Christmas card for y'all, because i don't know if they will make it to the mail this year. it is a bit crazy over here. i will be home a whopping 16 more days this year. yep. 16. and i don't think that will be enough time for me to do everything i will need to do for what life is requiring at this time of year.

so, Happy Holidays y'all! and i'll be back next year! that always sounds so funny.

i went with simple this year. and bright. i always design my cards and realize after i print them all that i went with dark colors. so, this year i went with bright. and it happened that a photo i recently took of my kids in the cotton fields had bright colors.

yes, this is how they look most of the time. especially right after school. which is what we did. i picked them up and drove straight out to check out the fields. i did NOT want to miss the cotton our last fall here. so, here are my ragamuffins.

thank you to everyone who made this year wonderful. I had so much fun learning and spending time with all of you. It has really meant a lot to me to have the privilege of meeting so many amazing people that i might not have met or had the pleasure of spending time with otherwise. and it meant a lot to me to get to spend time with people i already knew, too.
so thank you all!

So. Much. Fun!

Just a peak at a recent session. LOVED it.

canucks

we wish we lived closer to this lovely family. we only get to see them once every few years, and only because they make the sacrifice to drive to see us. and we are so lucky. we love them so much. and miss them just as much.
so, mike and tina, when will we get to see you next? when you're moving stateside? :D

they were the ones who suggested standing like the bars of service on your cell phone. or stairs. by age. so fun.

tyler • senior

this session was so fun. i really enjoyed myself.
this senior was great. and by that i mean that he was willing to do whatever i asked, and acted like he was ok with it. he even had a little fun while we were on the session. i might show a couple of those fun shots. hope you're ok with that, tyler.
so, on to his photos...

and here are two of those fun photos, as promised. but there were more...

bailey • freshman

bailey is tyler's brother. it was just as easy taking photos of him as it was his older brother.

even though we only got a few photos of him, i think he did really well and got some good shots that i hope his mom will like.

i'm back

can you tell? i may be posting a bit more often once i can get this new school year's schedule down. oh, and 3 in soccer. and scouts. and other stuff i am sure i am forgetting.
but i am back. and thank you everyone for your patience!!!

kerri • expecting

this stunning mom is a good friend of a good friend.
we went to the botanical gardens and it was so beautiful outside. i worried that it was going to be a bit chilly, after all it was the beginning of april, but it was warm. sunny. just wonderful for photos. or anything outside. and can you believe this mom thinks she isn't photogenic?
i will argue with her until i am blue in the face. she is a natural.

declan's family

this family is so cute. i know, that sounds like a word for little kids. but can i use it for this family? just this once. i mean it in the best way. the way that means adorable, delightful, lovable, sweet... the best way and ways cute can be taken. for a family. for a baby boy. for a mom. for a dad. the best way possible. promise.
so, that's what they are. cute.
sorry, zach.
the parents are both so very nice. all the time. i haven't ever seen nikky without a smile and a nice thing to say. and declan has to be the sweetest little guy. he is always happy. (right, nikky?) even when he was done at the end of the session, he was happy. tired, but happy. oh, and zach is great too. i don't want to leave him out. he is always pleasant and personable and was so eager and willing. which is always refreshing.

so, thank you guys for a wonderful session, even though we might have been less hot and miserable in a sauna. in our winter coats. and snow pants. okay, okay, and a rabbit fur hat. and a scarf.

see what i mean? cute. for nikky, cute=gorgeous.

so behind...

well, i am so very backed up on posting. but being gone for most of the summer just might be the cause. and i am still gone. it is strange how fast it has all happened. this summer flew by. crazy fast.

but, i will get back to posting some photos from my favorite sessions. wait, did i say favorite? yes, i did. but you know what? each of the sessions i have done has been a favorite in some way. something sets each session apart and makes it my favorite. so, if i tell you your session was my favorite, i am being honest. seriously. i have loved all of the sessions i have done. each one is unique in it's own way. and maybe working with wonderful people is all the difference.

i can't help looking at all the faces that have come into my life and feel a strong connection to each. a very dear bond that i feel when i look at them through the camera and see just what beautiful, wonderful people they each are. you are. it is a very different feeling. i can't describe it. but it's great. awesome.

so a big thanks to each of you. each of the amazing families, couples and individuals i have worked with this past year! it has been so much fun for me, and i hope you have something you will love for years to come.
