emory and aspen • twins

these twin girls are SO cute! i loved working with them. i had never worked with twins before, and their mom was so nice to let me try.

aspen was a bit more feisty at first, so we took some photos of emory by herself.
and then emory was the spunky one. so, it was aspen's turn.

(for some reason their individual shots didn't post. yet. i will get to them when i get back.)

i knew it would be hard to keep two babies satisfied and sleepy, but they were really good. i found it funny, however, that when one was out, the other wanted to play. without fail. it made me want to laugh. but that would have awakened both babies.
right at the end of our session they both wanted to sleep.

one more of aspen.

and one more of emory.

i will confess that at first i was embarrassed to admit that i was, in fact, going for a heart shape in this next photo, because i thought i had failed. but after a few people told me it looked like a heart, without me asking, i am now ok with admitting that, yes, i was trying to make them look like a heart.
a natural heart.

little miss c

this beautiful little girl is so sweet. she is 4 weeks old today. and she was 8 pounds, 4 ounces at birth. those things combined make her the largest and oldest newborn i have photographed. ever.
she did not want to sleep for the first while, which was fine by me. she was wide awake. i love alert babies. she seemed so curious and aware. it was wonderful. this beautiful quilt was made by her mom and great-grandmother. i LOVE the colors! i wish i had a full picture of it to show you just how neat it is.

it took her mom a while to get her to sleep, but it wasn't because she didn't try.

and once she was asleep, i really didn't want to move her.
i love alert babies, but i love sleepy babies, too. they are so perfect and... i could go on and on. but i think you know what i am trying to say. babies are just plain wonderful. and i think we were lucky she slept as well as she did once she was out. the older babies get, the more easily disturbed they are and the less they want to sleep. so, i am thankful she slept. and i am also thankful she was awake, too.

this little man is adorable. SO adorable. i just wanted to hold him and not let go. and i have never held a baby with so much blonde hair.

okay, two more.

sweet baby l

this photo jumped out at me while i was sorting through the photos from today.

she was so sweet. i should say "is" because she is. but she was so good the entire time i was photographing her. it has been a long time since i have held a newborn, and i loved every minute of it. but who wouldn't love holding this sweet baby girl?
i love how newborns "scowl". it is so cute to me. no one, but a newborn, can scowl and have it be cute. and she makes it look adorable.

she was under two weeks old, which is the perfect age for photographing newborns. they are more cooperative if you want them sleepy. and she was sleepy. she was perfect.

peaceful

this little boy is the son of my daughter's coach this past fall. he was always so quiet and mellow. he had been laying in his stroller, quiet as can be, and was on the verge of falling asleep when i noticed just how peaceful he looked.

mister max

this is the original max. remember this baby?
well, can you believe that this is that same little baby?

he isn't that little anymore. he has grown so much. it is so fun for me to watch babies and kids grow. the changes they go through are so wonderful to observe. and this little man has changed!

this sweet girl turned 1 at the end of august. she had fun eating her cake, and sharing it with my daughter. there are so many cute pictures of her eating her cake. but, here are a few fun ones.

sweet lil' mariah

this little girl is so sweet. there were so many cute photos of her, i had a really hard time narrowing this post down to a few photos. she has the sweetest little smile. and i have always thought that her eyes smile even when she isn't. especially when she is looking at her mom.

this tree was really neat. i love big canopy-type trees.

ok, i better stop there.

mr. max

this little guy is so smiley. always. and he has such a nice smile, too.
i am glad i get to have such happy kids and babies around.
and mr. m was happy, even though it was HOT and MUGGY the day we took these photos.

ok, so he isn't always smiling. he can be very serious sometimes. but even that is extremely cute.

baby e's blessing dress

the great thing about summer here, we found, is that it puts babies right to sleep. this sweet little girl was so good. and the guy who's yard this was, was so nice to let us take photos in it before he mowed it.
doesn't she have beautiful hair? and she has so much. i love it.

my photos are posting MUCH BRIGHTER than they are IRL, and yes, the white posted BRIGHT on here. sorry. don't look too long. you might go temporarily blind.

little miss piper

this little girl is so adorable. and sweet. i just love her. she was so good while we took her picture. and there are so many to choose from, but this is just a sneak peak. i couldn't resist getting her cute face up here.

miss kylie

this baby girl was so sweet! isn't she beautiful? she has gorgeous blue eyes even though you can't see them in these photos. she was so good the entire time she was here. her big brother came along and is definitely the most polite little man i have ever met.

for some reason, these look REALLY washed out on here. washed out and TOO light. I will have to get that figured out.

isn't her bracelet darling?

max

meet max. he is emily's fourth child. second boy. and man, is he a cute little guy. i LOVE all his hair! and he was so good!! he is the first baby i have "photographed", other than my own kids. and i had so much fun.
i am glad his mom knew that he had to be younger than 10 days old to get his photos like this. any older and babies aren't as "foldy" or as sleepy.
doesn't he look like the "discus thrower"? he is going to be a tough little guy.

and this is each of her four of her kids with her. the first three we took while she was pregnant with max (i know, i am stating the obvious) and the last is her with max just a few days old.
