these two sisters were so fun to work with. i am out of words today, so i don't know what to say. they are just beautiful, fun, sweet girls. but what more needs to be said than that?

these two are good friends. and i am so glad they were both with me for their senior photos. they teased each other and joked around and relaxed more than i have seen almost any guy in front of a camera.

shelby farms

it was beautiful outside today! a wonderful day to go for a hike, play on the high school track and bleachers, and eat dinner at shelby farms and play in the fields.



and yes, those are the colors my camera picked up right before the sun set. i did not change or add them in.

grand

i have been waiting to post these because they are for mother's day. but i don't think she will see them until then, so here is miss a and her mimi. her grandma. miss a is the first grandchild and what a sweet relationship these two have. this wonderful grandma was out here for 5 weeks, or was it more? and i was finally able to get to a park with them to take mother's day photos. even though it is a few months away.

miss e • expecting

this is a dear friend of mine who is now 6 months along with her 4th. i am so excited for her and her family. i think i am almost as excited as she is for her new lil' guy to arrive.

little miss c

this beautiful little girl is so sweet. she is 4 weeks old today. and she was 8 pounds, 4 ounces at birth. those things combined make her the largest and oldest newborn i have photographed. ever.
she did not want to sleep for the first while, which was fine by me. she was wide awake. i love alert babies. she seemed so curious and aware. it was wonderful. this beautiful quilt was made by her mom and great-grandmother. i LOVE the colors! i wish i had a full picture of it to show you just how neat it is.




it took her mom a while to get her to sleep, but it wasn't because she didn't try.


and once she was asleep, i really didn't want to move her.
i love alert babies, but i love sleepy babies, too. they are so perfect and... i could go on and on. but i think you know what i am trying to say. babies are just plain wonderful. and i think we were lucky she slept as well as she did once she was out. the older babies get, the more easily disturbed they are and the less they want to sleep. so, i am thankful she slept. and i am also thankful she was awake, too.

heidi & ben · engaged

this couple was just plain wonderful. perfect. i was so nervous. they were my first engagement session. but they were so amiable it was easy to relax a bit. i really enjoyed following them around while trying to capture the love they have for each other. we hung out downtown, which has always intimidated me, but we walked up and down it which was so fun.

i am having a hard time choosing what to put up here. they were so good that i could fill this blog with photos of them. there are so many. so many good ones. well, here's to being indecisive. i am hoping this will be my first of two posts of them. cause there's that much i want to put up here.

she has such gorgeous eyes, no picture does them justice.


i know you can't read it on these photos, but stenciled on the door behind them it reads, "NO STANDING IN FRONT OF DOOR". so we did.


and who doesn't love fun props? especially old-looking bikes.


this is my husband's favorite. i had him help me choose between this and 4 others. cause i'm indecisive that way.




this one is supposed to be somewhat vintage-y looking. softer. less color.

but i might like it better in black and white.

So excited!

i don't think i will ever get a view like this again. so neat to me. i love looking down on cities. it gives one a completely different perspective of what the city is. what it offers.

the s&c family

This family is SO. MUCH. FUN!
i love boys!
boys are so much fun. girls are too, i know, but boys just seem to bring a higher level of energy. a greater degree of silliness. and the desire to NOT have their photo taken. they love to make silly faces, stand like superheros, tell jokes, and make me laugh.

these boys are no different, full of fun. but they were so good for me. and i got to play with 4 of them! we counted from 1 to pizza, tried hard to NOT smile, and i watched them smile and laugh and couldn't hold back, myself.




i have a few more i want to put up here, but felt that i should post these until i get the other photos up. cause i can't wait any longer. yah, i'm impatient that way.

this little man is adorable. SO adorable. i just wanted to hold him and not let go. and i have never held a baby with so much blonde hair.

the j&k family

well, with this cold weather, the only options for pictures with a newborn are inside. luckily this fun family has a room that is full of light. so bright.



he had been practicing his "cheese" face. and i think it is so cute.




the lightning mcqueen photo makes me laugh. it's one of those "you had to be there" type of photos. it is what i was doing to get his attention, and he used it on me.

don't tell my family i am still up! i have been trying to clear off my computer so i had room to put the photos of this

cute family on it. and i just finished.
so now i am off to bed. hopefully to sleep enough so that i can be just as happy as the family above.

sweet baby l

this photo jumped out at me while i was sorting through the photos from today.

she was so sweet. i should say "is" because she is. but she was so good the entire time i was photographing her. it has been a long time since i have held a newborn, and i loved every minute of it. but who wouldn't love holding this sweet baby girl?
i love how newborns "scowl". it is so cute to me. no one, but a newborn, can scowl and have it be cute. and she makes it look adorable.






she was under two weeks old, which is the perfect age for photographing newborns. they are more cooperative if you want them sleepy. and she was sleepy. she was perfect.
